3D PDF

I'd like to create pdf's with the 3D model imbedded.  This could then be viewed, rotated, and Zoomed.

Tetra4D is the software to do this as Adobe X no longer supports it.

Anyone using tetra4D?

Are you aware that you can achieve this functionality with dwf as well?

Sorry, that isn't what I meant.
I just wanted to make sure you knew that you could have the 3D functions of a pdf (and more) in a dwf.
(not that you could convert a 3D dwf to 3D  pdf)

There are numerous posts about this on the board.. The general consensus is that its more work than its worth.. Marketing would love it here too... Until I tell them how much work it was... Now this was using Acrobat 3d version 8 when I tried it.. Hopefully tetra has made this process easier..

The biggest issue was that because we update Inventor yearly and acrobat wouldn't put out a patch to the program till sept or november we would get 3 months out of the year that it was an easy process and then the rest of the year adobe wouldn't support the version of Inventor we were on..

Of course by the time Autodesk actually puts this functionality into Inventor html5 3d files or something else will be what everyone wants.

OK, I down loaded the trial tetra4D.

Works great.  Multiple ways to imbed into the PDF.

Double click attached image.

I would suggest you to try a third party software that can help you achieve this, you can convert directly from DWG 3D, DWF 3D, DXF models and many more to 3D PDF format, see http://www.pdf3d.com such as PDF3DReportGen software.

It’s not a direct Acrobat plugin like Tetra4D, but files can be loaded and edited in Acrobat after conversion.

For Inventor, it’s also possible to export ZGL.
