Hi Guys,
I am trying to use the 3D line tool in the Pipe and Tube section. I am using Inventor 2014 S1 and this tool is grayed out and I can't select it? The auto route doesn't follow the route that I want. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Note that the Green tab is your Route tab (active tab).
The 3D sketch tab is not active.
I think you need to go into an active 3D sketch, create it, and then go back to your Route to select it.
I don't understand? How do you go into an active 3D sketch? Or how do you create a 3D sketch? Because I can't find that tool? The only 3D sketch option that I get is when I create a new pipe route, then the 3D tab appears and I can then select it. But then the line tool is grayed out?
I'm not sure why you want to use 3D line. The route tool is essentially the same thing. It creates a 3D sketch.

iUser,
To create a 3D Sketch, select the down arrow next to Create 2D Sketch.
It will then give you the option to Create 3D Sketch.
Have a good day.
