2008 merge problem with qty.

I am merging stock numbers for banding on my parts. I can get the parts list to merge the stock numbers and total the lengths but the qty still shows the total number of parts coming from the merge.

For instance I have 2 pieces of banding each 10 in long. My part list shows banding qty 2 length of 20. I need the qty to stay at 1. I don't need 2 pieces of banding 20 in long.

TIA

Hi! You can consider using Value Substitution in Part List. Edit the Part List and right-click on the QTY column->Format Column->Substitution.

Enable Value Substitution
Where exists, use value of BASE QTY
When rows are merged, value used is FIRST Value

Thanks!

Will this affect the qty of the other parts that are not merged?

No, it should not affect non-merged rows.
