1 D Stress Analysis

Hi.
As a part of my course, I am supposed to do 1 D stress analysis.

It was possible in ANSYS.

But how to do that in AD Inventor? (I can do basic 3 D stress analysis, bu I need to know how to do 1D)

So, is it possible in AD Inventor 2011 or only 3 D stress analysis is possible?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

What is the design geometry - can you post an example file?

Are you familiar with the Design Accelerators - beam/column/plate?

Hi.

My problem is, there is a beam hanging vertically, to which an axial force of 100N is applied.
Now I have to find out the elongation using 1D spar element in ANSYS.
I have to do it as 1D only.
So in ANSYS I will first select the spar element, then draw a line whose length will be same
as that of the beam and th cross-sectional area of the beam is entered seperately in a dialog box that corresponds to the 1D spar element.

So, my question is to know whether I can do it in Autodesk Inventor or not?

Please see the picture at http://www.mece.ualberta.ca/tutorials/ansys/BT/Truss/images/Lines.gif

It is simillar to this, i need to model in Autodek Inventor. I am aware that the truss can be modelled in 3 D.

Thank you.
