Inventor - Split an object

Hi,

I wonder if it is possible to split an object when I open a dwg-file in Inventor Fusin? .eg. split a wall in two parts..?

what other programs can be used to split objects easily?

Kind regards,

You can try the Split command. See image.

Thanks for your help,

But it does not seem to work when I open a dwg file and want to split one of the objects. but it works when I draw an object in Inventor and then want to split it...

Thanks for the file.

Unfortunately I could not open it in Inventor Fusion 2013. Is this the version you are using?

Also, I'm curious what your intent is. Do you wish to edit a .dwg 2D drawing file and then save it as a .dwg 2D drawing file (sort of like a replacement for AutoCAD). Or do you intend to create 3D shapes from your floor plan and output a 3D .dwg Fusion file?

Yes, I use Inventor Fusion 2013.

What my group need to do is to split an object in NavisWork, which is impossible. someone said  it's possible to do it in inventor fusion. but it does not work there either.

eg consultants have designed a wall that is 25 m long in their model, but we want to split it according to our construction planning.

best regards

Fusion has a sketch trim tool. See attached image.

We don't want to Trim a sketch,

why can't we split an object on a dwg file in Inventor?  Does it really need to be a drawn object in Inventor which can be split?

regards

N

Can you open the file in Inventor Fusion? Each time I try there is no information Inventor Fusion can display.

I can open the file in AutoCAD and all edits are possible. Have you tried AutoCAD?
