Import Solidworks Assembly into Fusion and Retain Individual Part Properties

I am curious if any Inventor wiz's out there know if it is feasible to import a Solidworks Assembly File (SLDASM) into Fusion, and retain properties (layer, orientation, etc) of the individual parts in relationship to the whole assembly.

I have had success doing this from SW to Rhino, exporting the assembly file as an IGES....Rhino reads the layers and separates parts accordingly.  Does Fusion have similar capabilities?

My resultant goal is to obtain a 3d model in CAD format in which individual parts to the whole assembly (origin to origin) can be selectively made visible or invisible for visualization purposes directly between SW and Fusion.

I am understanding of the current compatibility between programs, please mind that the overall question is more broad.

Thanks for the help,

Brent

Yes, import of solidoworks will keep position and model hierarchy.
