Unable to cut extrude

I am not a professional, I am learning privately.

Please see attached file.

I am trying to draw an Automotive windscreen.

I used the loft command on the correct angles and radius, etc.

However, after drawing the correct shape of the widescreen on an adjacent plane I tried the normal EXTRUDE command.

To no avail.

All I want to do is cut out the external shape !

You have surface bodies - not solid bodies.

Therefore you must use Trim Surface.

Also, you should install the latest Service Pack and Update for your version of Inventor.

Hi,

Just wondered if you can explain why my computer locks each time I try and trim the aditional grey area I have added.

The windscreen has a curved bottom hidden in the grey area.

I have tried the trim surface command but inventor locks or freezes on me.
