If you render the image with Studio, you can save as a .png with alpha channel. I'm on 2010 so I am not sure if this is an option using "Save Copy As" in 2011 or 2012.
Hi! Here is how you change document background.
In Inventor, go to Tools -> Application Options -> Colors -> Background -> Background image and point to a transparent "colored" image file.
Thanks!
Here is how it can be done.
Forgot to mention...
Save As Type must be set to PNG or another image type that supports Alpha Channels.
Bitmap (.bmp) files do not support alpha channels.
Of what? Open the png file in your photoediting tool of choice (photoshop,etc..) use the magic wand to remove the background and save as png

Hi freestyle4x4f150,
Here's a tip from Mark Flayler on out putting a PNG with a transparent background from Studio:

Also, your blank post is likely a result of a setting in IE9. If you set it to Compatibility Mode, it should fix it:

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
