IV 2010 hangs while saving after performing stress analysis

Every time I try to save after performing a stress analysis on an assembly IV hangs. As a matter of fact I can save up to the point of applying contacts. After I apply contacts and try to save it hangs. The assembly has six native IV parts and I'm doing a Static Analysis.

Anyone else?

Hello R.Corriveau,

Does this happen with any dataset (i.e. does this happen with a simple block?)

If it is specific to your dataset, would you consider emailing it to me?

Not a simple block. Only assemblies. And all assemblies.

We had an issue with saving the result files if the filename is very long (256+ characters). Could this be the case with your dataset?

We addressed the long file path in hotfix TS1105087: [Hotfix - Performance improvments for stress analysis operations|http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=13225914&linkID=9242019]

As a quick test, could you try moving the files closer to root directory to shorten the file name path?

I hope this helps.

Best regards, -Hugh

Also are the files stored locally or on a network.

Locally and a network. Happens on both. Files with directories aren't anywhere near 256 characters.

Hi R.Corriveau,

This seems very strange. We cannot reproduce the issue on any of our systems, nor have I head of this specific issue before.

Could you send me your contact info in a email? We can set up a GoToMeeting, to remote into your machine and ask Development to investigate why this is happening.

Thank you for your time, and we apologize for the inconvenience this is causing.
