Inventor 2016 crashes when closing

I have installed 2016 from the PRDSP_2016_Enu_Win_64bit_dlm bundle. Everytime I close Inventor it crashes and loses the files I've pinned and the recently opened files list. All the other apps work just fine.

We're running Windows 7 - 64 bit, 4 GB of ram if that info is needed. Any idea's? Thanks for any help.

Hi

Please see link for Inventor Hardware requirements, this may not be specifically the problem but you are under spec'd.

Autodesk support directed me to the 2Dto3D add-in. I had an old 2013 version of it installed.

I uninstalled it and the crash on close problem went away.

Did you submit the crash reports? if not DO..

If so they may contact you back or come here asking for more information to check it for you.

But it could be any of 1000 things.. crash report/error log are critical.

Yes, please send in all CER's you receive. Ideally with a valid email address & someone from Autodesk will contact you.

Thanks

Chris

Thanks for the heads up Bryan. I do have that 2Dto3D add-in on the cpu also Brandon. But I can't uninstall it. It keeps telling me I don't have Inventor installed on the computer. Of course, I do. It crashes everytime so I'll go do it right now and send the report in. Thanks.

Same thing happened to me. The uninstaller is looking for the old version of Inventor that you probably don't have anymore.

Go to TOOLS -> ADD-INS. Select to 2Dto3D Add-In. Uncheck the boxes in Load Behavior and note the DLL Location down at the bottom on the dialog box. Close Inventor, delete the DLL manually, then reload Inventor.

You can get a 2016 version of the 2Dto3D addin from Downloads section on Autodesk Labs:

https://beta.autodesk.com/callout/?callid=AB3EF879579E4B31A1555E24C004F438

If a valid email address was added to the CER you would have received an automatic email with this info.

Thanks

Chris
