How to set the mold opening distance

Hello Everybody,

I am wondering if you know how to set the mold opening distance in Inventor, at the moment the mold that I managed to generate does not visually open enough for the part to be realistically extracted:

Hello,

You can edit positional representation table via below workflow:

  1. On the Model browser, right-click Mold Design_MB:1(the browser name depends on the mold design name) and choose Edit.
  2. Switch to the Representations browser.
  3. In the upper part of the browser, select Edit positional representation table.
  4. On the worksheet, change the value of PL1 from 155 mm to 160 mm.
  5. Save and close the worksheet.
  6. Return to the Model browser.
  7. Activate the Product Open representation.

Thank you very much!

Now the question is: can you make an animation on opening, ejection and closing for a mold?

You can have a try with driving constraint. Refer to the short video: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/community/screencast/65d49e95-4855-4032-9364-aa8d0f917452
