Why have profiles been removed¿
I don’t want to have to create new profiles.
I’m looking for angles , square and rectangular tube steel profiles.
smaller profiles
is there a old library available?
Did you check if your Content Center directory is ok?
There should be 10+ IDCL-files there, for various standards.
If you open an older frame-based assembly that you made prior to this issue, is it possible to change profile, or is it broken?
Check your Project settings to ensure you are using a project that has the correct libraries configured.

Hi! These are the default CC library files installed by Inventor 2023. I guess your custom profiles were stored in your in your 2022 library. You may need to go to the 2022 CC library folder, find the custom library, copy and paste it to 2023 CC library folder. After that, go to Project setting dialog -> click on Configure Content Center button on the right -> Migrate Library -> select the 2022 library file. Then you will be able to use the library in 2023.
Many thanks!

i don’t have any custom profiles.
and I don’t want to spend the time creating angle square tubing and rectangular tube profile.
Frame generator has a message that profile from the default library’s have been removed.
What I’m wishing for are profiles that I can order off the shelf from a supplier that happened to be smaller profiles then what is supplied
If for some reason the sizes you need are not available in the as-installed libraries, you have no choice but to create a custom library... but you don't need to create your own profiles in that library. It is very simple to copy profiles from the existing libraries into your custom library and add sizes, add materials, etc.
Adding new profiles is possible, too, but with a fairly steep learning curve.

Chris Im not sure what you are saying. I am not tied to frame generator.
when you say FG I assume you mean frame generator.
you say you like FG BUT you company you work for likes it.
That sounds like you are not tied to frame generator
I just was wondering, I have a set of structural steel smart templates I use, as I try to avoid FG when possible. I read you didn't want to author custom profiles... I also don't like authoring profiles, that's why I made the templates.
I don't think they ever were in the table.
I've added them to custom a long time ago.
Custom are in "My Library" at the end of the list.
