Custom frame members display name

Hi all,

How can I control the display name of the custom frame profile that I added to CC?

I thought that this column in CC will do the job:

1.png

But apparently that Property "Member.Display Name" is for the parts that are placed from content center in assembly:

2.png

So above are parts from same CC Family, but they got different display names..

When used in frame generator, the display name is composed out of "Standard Organization" and the "Stock Number". Any chance that can be customized from somewhere?

Thanks

What version of Inventor do you use ??

The current 2019 version/update of Inventor has the ability to create a custom naming format.

I have Inventor 2019 and Update 2, but anyway those new options are for file naming.

My problem is display name, some that can be different than file name.

@alexandru.spinu3KN9U

With frame generator, the display name is done in the frame generated workflow steps when you have prompt for filename option selected.  It does not use the display naming mapping in your content center

Hello @alexandru.spinu3KN9U to add to what @Mark.Lancaster suggests you can skip to 9:50 and it shows how to rename the browser node to the Frame Generator filename.

Thanks, for the nice video, explained every step very well.

Finally, as you said it is usable to the level it needed to be.

It will save me a lot of time, As I used to do all that part renaming manually.

Regards

Parag

An old thread but the video step doesn't work for me it will not add the Content Center Property that I add to the Frame Member entry.

'll use my own file.

I want to customise the name of the frame member in the position shown here -

Capture.JPG

The process above doesn't change the name in this position it changes it in this position in the iProperties. -

These are 2 totally different places.

I am still unclear, but these are the two places you can try.
