Can't edit in place a part or an assembly with model states

Hello everyone,

This is an issue that prevents our team to use the model states. Model states concept is very nice and we really would like to use it but preventing editing in place is a big no go for us. 

I know there are limitation with having a part or an assembly with model states being associative. I understand associative can't work with model states. 

What I would like to see is the we should be able to edit in place but we wouldn't be able to make an association.

I just tried 2023 to see if it's resolved but it's not. 

Are we the only one finding this a very big limitation ?

Hi! The issue was reported as INVGEN-59725. This is still a limitation as of 2023.0. The latest status shows it is currently targeting 2023.1 update (July). A testable build with the fix may be available on Inventor Feedback Community before that.
