Assembly contraints

Is there a way to set an allowable tolerance for assemble contraints to be slightly off but still except it?

Not sure the exact intent of the OP, but in 2011 and newer, you can set constraint limits. Might be what he's after.

Sounds to me like OP is looking for example to mate the axis of holes not in exact position on mating parts.
In the real world there is a position (and size) tolerance associated with each (hole) feature.  In CAD software we must have exact to add assembly constraints.
