Here's how you turn off "smileys":
- Go to "My Settings" (above)
- Select "Preferences" tab
- Select "Display" sub-tab
- Set "Emoticon Type" to "None"
Ta-da! No more smileys! 🙂
Also note that there's an "Insert Code" button above (the icon is a "C" on a clipboard). This is a good option for when you're inserting a full line or more of code.
