export to AutoCAD DWG from OEM-addon

Hello,

My machine is equipped with AutoCAD 2015 and Inventor Pro 2015 (ETO)- I can easily "Save As > Save Copy As > AutoCAD DWG Files" - tested on OEM. 

I have problems saving the drawings to AutoCAD DWG format from Inventor ETO addon-deployment machine, where the deploy Inventor OEM is only installed (tested on Windows 8.1 machines).

When I try export to AutoCAD DWG a window with text: "Problems encountered while saving the document." appears (no "DWG File Export Options" window is called).

Export to Inventor DWG works, but it is not enough.

Is it possible to export to AutoCAD DWG from addon-Inventor?

Hi Tomasz,

Did you manually check the options DWG/DXF in Addins tab when you deployed the application installer using OEM configurator? It is default to uncheck for all translators.

I tried the whole process from deploying the installer to installing in a clean OS and generating drawing, then exported to AutoCAD DWG that it works well.

The only difference is instlaling the application on Win7 OS.

I will try to install it on Win8.1 OS to see whether it works tomorrow.

It would be helpful if you can provide more details.

Hello, thank you for your answer.

I just compiled the addon, had exactly the same problems on Win 7 when trying to add the translators additionally to the files in "Files & Build" of Inventor OEM Configurator.

The deploy works on Win7 when compiled with addin dll and all the design related files only + translators checked for DWG/DXF.

But the same install on fresh Win8.1 virtual machine gives this during "save as" Autodesk DWG or DXF:

Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the issue on fresh windows 8.1 OS, either.

Is there any special with your DWG file? Do you just "Save Copy As" with choosing type as "AutoCAD DWG files"?

Check Tools->Addins->Translators tab from the application, do you see :"Translator:DWG" there being loaded?

I don't see nothing special in my DWG file.

I can open different DWG file but the addon produces the same problems while trying to "Save Copy As" with choosing type as "AutoCAD DWG files".

Image shows that DWG translator is installed successfully, so the issue is that it doesn't work well in windows 8.1 OS from your side.

It would be helpful to reproduce it with the files and the settings you deployed the installer with.

As it is probably common - the files are classified and not for publishing.

I will also cut the programm a little to keep the main point before sending.

Hi Tomas, by the way, is the Win 8.1 OS you installed the application on English OS or localized OS?

Hi, it was English Windows 8.1, I also tried it on localised version with the same effect.
