Hi
I have web based application using ETO Server 2012 (5.1.0.322).
I have started getting failures which say
System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException: There was an error reading from the pipe: The pipe has been ended. (109, 0x6d). ---> System.IO.IOException: The read operation failed, see inner exception. ---> System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException: There was an error reading from the pipe: The pipe has been ended. Communication state is shown as 'Faulted'
Please let me know if I am doing something wrong here.
Thanks

There are multiple reasons a pipe error like this can happen, such as a timeout or a lower level exception that causes the CommunicationObject to become faulted. ETO Server logs exceptions in the Windows Event Log. You can view them on the Intent Services Configurator's Error Log tab, or by looking in the Window Event Viewer under Application\IntentServices.
Another way to help diagnose the underlying cause is to enable WCF logging. You can do this by editing the IntentSessionHost.config file in the ETO Server bin directory and uncommenting this section: (re-comment it out when you are done since it affects performance)
<system.diagnostics> <sources> <source name="System.ServiceModel" switchValue="Information, ActivityTracing" propagateActivity="true"> <listeners> <add name="traceListener" type="System.Diagnostics.XmlWriterTraceListener" initializeData= "c:\log\Traces.svclog" /> </listeners> </source> </sources> </system.diagnostics>
Then try again and let us know if the Event Log or Traces.svclog file gives you more information.
