Want to learn VBA for Inventor

Hi.
I want to learn VBA for inventor and was wondering if you could give me some advice. Links to tutorials, any documetation,etc.....(for newbies)I`m completely new to programming at all!!
I have read that you can turn on transcripting, then do some stuff and then look at the transcript (*.tf). Where do I do that? And how do I look at the transcript??

Thanx

Regards Svein

If you are new to programming in general, I think the best start would be to learn some basic "visual basic" first.
There are probably lots of books like "Visual basic for dummies" to be bought. (not trying to call you names, it is just the name of the book 😛 )

Thanks
I was hoping it wasnt that difficult, but it seems like I must learn from basic the hard way. Good to hear that I didnt sound to dumb, bad english and all 🙂

Svein, Why dont you look "core skills" at http://www.dcs.napier.ac.uk/hci/VB50/home.html
You could find lots of similar links with a "visual basic tutorial" search on google.

It looks like a decent and short tutorial.

May be worth a look at.

Svein -

There's nothing wrong with your English!!  The
only hint I would give to you is to use "too" when something is in excess (as in
"I didn't sound too dumb,).  "I wanted to drive to
the store, but there was too much traffic."  Your
English is just fine!

Sorry I have no hints to give you about
VBA!

ENGLISH 101:

There were
too many books in their lockers
over there, but they're
going to read all of them.

Hope I didn't confuse you!

Regards,

Mark Triton

There is a free tutorial in the Augi Training Program
(ATP).

Mike,

Have you registered for this course in AUGI as well. I did and have downloaded the segments for reading. But, there is no one else to interact with, not even the instructor.

Wonder what is going on?

Yes, I downloaded it. I haven't had a chance to read it yet,
though. I haven't attempted to contact the instructor yet. I haven't used ATP
before, so I'm not sure about the exact procedure for interacting with others.
I'll let you know, when I find out something.

I got the material, but I am not sure what I need to do to get the next batch. I guess I
have to go back to the web site and do something?? I have tried these courses in the past
and always found them more complicated to stay in the program than the program actually
was. This is the first time I have actually made it to the point of getting some
material

I just went to see if there was new material too. Only to find out, that I
missed the registration period for Segment B. So, I guess I'm out too! This
is what has always frustrated me about the ATP. I understand why they want
you to re-register, so that they know whether or not the instructor should
prepare material or not. I think there should be a better way to remind us,
when it's time to register. I guess I'm out for the next segment too, I'm
going on vacation in a couple days.

Right after posting I went and checked to.... same thing. You shouldn't have to go back
to the site to do it, once you have registered it should be between you and the
instructor. The instructor should have some project for you to do or try and send back.
If he gets it then you get the next lesson.

The way I read it though, if you go back after tonight you might be able to get back in
for the Next segment?? Not sure.

Kent,

You had to go back to the registration page and recheck the boxes in the
courses that you wanted to remain in. For Segment B, I think the deadline
to reregister was yesterday, since Segment B began today (15th).

I had actually forgotten about even signing up, and went yesterday after I
read this post and got reregistered for Segment B. They haven't posted the
new lesson yet though.

They should send out an email to the list or something about
reregistering... I actually went and set up some scheduled tasks to run for
each segment so I will remember to go get the lessons and reregister for the
next segment.

Did anyone get the first 2 AUGI ATP segments of the
"Beginning Autodesk Inventor VBA"?  If so would you be willing to email me
a copy.  I have segment C, but not segments A & B.  I had a hard
time at first figuring out what I had to do for these courses.  So now all
I have is the segment C downloads for the classes I signed up for.
Thanks.
