Default IVB location

Hi all

A few quick questions regarding a company setup: can I have a default.ivb
setup on the server and each workstation's IV setup to look for it on the
network? Are there any drawbacks? Or should I have a default.ivb for each
machine?

In case there are no drawbacks to a network setup, in order for the BMP's to
available as icons, should they be in the same directory as default.ivb?

Having a central place to put default.ivb would make maintenance much
easier...

Thanks

You might do a search for a subject "weird shared default.ivb" I
don't know if anything has changed since that thread or not.

There was a "fix" for Inventor 8 that allows multiple access to a single
.ivb file. If the .ivb is writable, then the first person that accesses it
will have read-write access. Anyone else that uses it will have read-only
access. You could also set the file to be read-only so that everyone will
have read-only access.
