controlling when a rule runs

Looking for some ideas for how to solve this.

I have an assembly driven with ilogic rules. When the assembly is opened in the default level of detail a ilogic error is generated because i have rules changing the state of components (suppressed/unsuppressed). which kind of makes sense since you need a level of detail to suppress/unsuppress.

I say kind of because I have never experienced this problem with other ilogic driven assemblies.

So i was thinking to check what the active level of detail is (i know how to do that) and only run the rules with the suppression code when it is my custom level of detail.

Problem i am having is checking which ilogic level of detail is active AFTER opening the assembly (ie firing that rule)

I do not want to use the "on open document" event.

This does not work well in Inventor/Ilogic 2009

thanks
