Can't Purge Unused Linetypes!.....AAARRRRGGGGHHHH

Is there a way to purge unused linetypes or rename existing ones?

Loading new linetypes is easy as pie but once they are in your drawing, there appears to be no way to remove them.  They do not appear to be a style based entity and thus un-editable/un-removable.

Unlike vanilla autocad, where you can manage the linetypes using the .lin files, Inventor seems to embed the loaded linetypes in the .dwg itself which is nice for portability but when trying to create a standard template, I don't want any linetype that isn't "standard" to show up as an option in the dwg.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

As you have found the custom loaded line types will be saved in the document even you don’t use it for any style. There is not any API to remove or purge them.

Please log this on the Idea Station:

You can use the API to create a drawing using a template that has the required linetypes.

Thanks,

Wayne
