Borders of an .idw drawing showing up in a .dxf cutting file

Hello all,

When I save a drawing file (.idw) as a .dxf cutting file for our gas cutter to cut the metal it shows the entire sheet (including borders, arrows, markers etc). when, on the old computer, it only used to show the shape (or part) that I had drawn previously.

We use autodesk inventor 8 and a Esab-programmed fastCAM (fastLINK series) ESSI server gas cutter profiler to cut the metal.

If anybody has any ideas then i'd really appreciate it.

Sam.

I cannot remember if Inventor 8 had layers in drawings or not.  If so make sure your view Elements are on a different layer than the boarder.

Anothe method is to create a format that has no boarder called... say BlankFormat.  Use that one as a second sheet to output DXF.
