boolean of 2 bodies

I'm looking at subtracting a tool body from a base solid in a multi-body part as quick as possible, then move the tool body and cut again.

All this needs to be done as quick as possible. I'm not interested in features, I just want the final solid. This solid must be editable at the end of this set of operations.

Think of a cutting tool moving through a solid - I want to create the final solid as quick as possible.

Is this possible, and how would I go about doing it?

Many thanks for your help (in advance)

Dave

I've created a blog post at http://modthemachine.typepad.com/my_weblog/2014/09/fast-booleans-using-the-api.html that will hopefully answer your question.
