Authoring Structural Shape

Hello all , please help , running out of hair.....

What i'm trying to do is author three I beams (settings within ipart) for use in frame generator

Have been through this tutorial 

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOwR89pA_e8 and a few other white papers just to learn up

This problem is as follows:

When i click on "strutural shape authoring" i sellect I beams (auto completes "default base point etc") then select "paremeter mapping" 

Select "base length" and and set as length BUT IT WONT CHANGE EXTRUSION TO BODY AND DRIVEN LENGTH

Hence i end up with a part not a profile for use in fame generator

Any help very greatly recieved!

Spoke with a desiging guru type chap who came in , ran through my process, confirmed that i'm doing nothing wrong and also confirmed that IV is half arsed software at best

If i look through my prvious problems with IV it really does beggar belief that people pay for it 

Problem solved by giving £7000 to a nice man from solid works
