windows installer error

Trying ti install Infrasteucture suite standard onto a winxp sp3 32 bit machine.  However, i keep getting errors that the windows installer needs to be upgraded.  error numbers that show up are #5979 at first, and then #6097.

The machine is fully patched from microsoft, and I explcitly installed the latest windows installer that I could see on the M website.

tryinbg to get past the error by clicking ok, and the installer just spins endlessly

suggestions are welcome!!

Please follow this solution to re-register your Windows Installer.

If not work, please go to Microsoft to download installer 4.5 and reinstall it.

Hi Emily.

I  tried the fixes you suggested, and at least have different errors now.  The first error number is 1719.  After I hit OK to get past that error message, the next error is 1635, Failed to run AdskExecuteSequence.

Actually though, all I really want to install o n this machines is the Content Service.  It does not show up on the list of "Tools and Utilities" in IDSS - only NL and CADManager Tools appear there.
