Vehicle Tracking 2015 - Free Trial - License issue

I'm trying to evaluate Autodesk's Vehicle Tracking 2015. I installed it as a standalone license since I'm wanting to do the free trial.

After I open Civil 3D and go to the Vehicle Tracking tab, I can't do anything. I get a license error messege. Apparently since the Civil 3D 2015 license is a network license, the Vehicle Tracking won't run with a stand alone license. I tried to reinstall and do a network license but the free trial isn't an option for network license.

How can I get the free trial to work?

you can try this: http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Autodes...

don't know if this works for 2015

No luck. Since I don't have a product key and/or network license for Vehicle Tracking, I can't install it as a network license version.

It would be nice to be able to evaluate / test out Vehicle Tracking without having to un-install Civil 3D and re-installing a Trial version of it back onto the workstation.

A trial version of Autodesk Vehicle Tracking cannot run against a networked version of Civil 3D as that is not a supported configuration.

The valid configurations can be seen at:

We're having the same issue. I would think there would be as many instances of network licenses (or more) in real world applications. We would like to test the software, and compare it to others, before purchasing, but because we have network licenses, we can't. Curious as to the reasoning or incapabilities to have a trial for a network product?

I too would like to try out the Vehical Tracking and compare to Autoturn. I am on a network license, to bad to sad is our option when spending thousands on Autocad products already?

What about testing it on a Home Use License? http://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/software-downloads/home-use/reques...

Would that work for you?

Thanks, Duncan...I'm not sure if that would work, because the "parent" license is still a network license, and not stand-alone. Am I correct in that?

I know what you mean but it's affectively a standalone install with it's own serial number.

I installed the free trial and it has interfaced with my autocad and does not work and it does not have an uninstall associated with it so I suppose i will have to use the repair function to remove it. Thanks, they should tell you at the download page not to install on a system with a network license.

As for installing it at home, I get enough face time at work with Autocad and have better things to do at home.

Thanks, everyone. In the meantime, we had our reseller come in and give a live demo (we had them use one of our projects), not a typical software demonstration of bells and whistles. That seemed to appease the higher ups, and we have a quote in hand.
