Using an external hard drive

I've heard downloading audocad on your computer slows it down, so I want to download it on an external harddrive. I can't figure out where i tell it to download there, has anyone done this? or know how?

That will slow your download down further as access thru a USB is slower than direct access to your local HDD.  If you're worried about it, download it overnight.
