Our school has bought the educationnal suite 2012. Students can install for free at home the student version version. By this way, they should be able to work at home with their projects. That's one of the reasons why we chose autodesk products.
But when they tried it, we get the violation message that says that student version shall not be used on a commercial version. But educationnal version is NOT a commercial one.
How should we do? Students want to be able to work at home and at school with their projects.
It seems that the projectfile opens anyway i the educational version, but many things differ in the vertices, cameras, textures (we use mainly 3dsmax).
Hi,
It's not a violation message.
It's a warning message that indicate to not use a commercial drawing (.dwg) with a educational product.
If you do it despite the message, all your drawing use one time with the educational product will have a stamp when you print them.
Don't mix drawing made by and for commercial usage with educational product.
thanks for your answer.
It's just strange that the design in 3dsmax changed between the files. it was not exactly the same. Some students had to redo some parts, other had the .max file restored to a previous version (when using moving camera in 3dsmax). They lost their last work when dowgrading process took place. Do you know why?
