Understanding Licensing Issues

1.) Do I require one license per employee? Does this relate to activation fees?

2.) For previous versions of 3D Studio Max (student license), each copy gave only three activation fees. Are there more activation fees for the full license?

3.) Can 3Ds Max of the same license be installed on different computers but used at the same time?

4.) If I brought one stand-alone copy of 3Ds Max, would it work for three employees simultaneously (at the same time)?

Thanks for your time,
Chris

Hi Chris,

please find bellow the answer to your questions.

1- Do I require one license per employee? Does this relate to activation fees?
• One license per user is required. Is not related to the activation fees.
2- For previous versions of 3D Studio Max (student license), each copy gave only three activation fees. Are there more activation fees for the full license?
• The activation fees you refer are a sort of fault tolerance for license problems. We allow our users having a severe license issue to authorize the same machine again.
3- Can 3Ds Max of the same license be installed on different computers but used at the same time?
• No, one license can be used at once. You may install 3DS Max in different machines and export the license when you need to switch the machine, but there will be only one license active.
4- If I brought one stand-alone copy of 3Ds Max, would it work for three employees simultaneously (at the same time)?
• No. One license authorizes one installation only. So, if you have purchased a single license, is not possible to have three users on the same time using that license.

The EULA (End User License Agreement) is provided in electronic format within the software, however, you may find it here.
