Unable to start flexlmservice 1?

Afternoon

I have just created a 2008 deployment and installed all the license management tools that go with this onto a server running windows 2003 server.

LMTools is configured correctly but i am unable to start the flexlm service 1 required for my client machines to start borrowing licenses?

Any suggestions?

Windows Server 2003 R2 is not supported.

Not sure if this is the case here or not. Do you get any error message?

I have FlexLM 11.4 for R2008 running just fine on Server 2003 R2 SP2 with no
issues at all.

I have used the remove service tool in LMtools and then recreated the service and this has resolved the issue. The origional flexlm service 1 was created when using a previous version of LMTools with AutoCad2004

I've had a serious problem on Server 2003 R2 where my debug file starts growing and fills up the hard drive resulting in very bad words spoken.

I've had to create a little batch file to stop and start the service so the debug file gets refreshed to a small size.

I am waiting for a good time to uninstall and reinstall the license manager, I'm hoping that might permanently fix this.

Out of curiosity, did you uninstall and reinstall to 11.4 or just replace the specific old files with the newer ones?

This was a new, clean install on the server - a previous one didn't exist on
that computer. I do have an older license server still running on a
different machine for our R2005 licenses.

Okay, there's a sginificant difference. I was a bit shocked to hear it wasn't supported on R2, didn't cross my mind to check this potential problem although through experience I should know better.
