Unable to Register Inventor

I successfully installed Inventor 2014 (64-bit) on my Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 laptop. Internet Explorer 11 is installed (no I'm not downgrading 3 major versions back to IE8).

When I launch the product, a blank registration window appears. I have tried every suggestion to get past this point, to no avail. Enabled all ActiveX controls, edited RTBeginReg.html, etc. Nothing works.

Isn't there a direct way I can register my product and get past this window? The product launch never completes. All I ever get is the splash screen.

This has been very frustraing for the past 3 hours.

The Inventor Registration Log says:

2014-01-25, 10:14:57:  HandleDll failed in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2014\Bin\..\Compatibility\Bin\DbxBridgePS.Dll

See attachment.

Did you turn off your firewall?

I tried that. No joy.

I did notice I could close the blank registration window from my task bar.
Then the product came up and I could either go into a trial mode or enter
in an authorization. The latter gave me a partially blank and useless page,
so I went into trial mode instead. Was able to launch Inventor. I was
hoping there'd be a menu item where I could enter in my serial number and
product key (that I received by email), but I don't see a way to do this
either.

I gotta say, for a 2014 product, they sure didn't test this required
feature very well. The latest IE browser is up to 11. Forcing you to
downgrade to 8 is a bit much.
