Greetings,
I have installed AutoCad 2010 on a Vista machine. It ran fine until the 30 trial period ran out. Now when I start AutoCad, I get a window saying that the 30 day period has expired. I select activate, but then a mostly blank screen appears (there are 2 buttons in the upper left corner). I have tried going through the activiation process at www.autodesk.com/register, but it asks for the activation code. It seems that that code is supposed to appear on the screen that is coming up blank. I have tried, uninstalling and reinstalling AutoCad numerous times, I have followed the instructions for cleaning out left behind files and the registry entries and have even used a "smart" uninstaller to try to more thoroughly remove AutoCad. None of these work. I can go to the directory where AutoCad stores the html, css and images files, and open the begin registration page with a browser although that doesn't work to register/activate the product. I might also note that the page displays correctly in IE but not in firefox. Oh and I also tried installing the AutoCad update from ~Oct 2009. Also didn't help. It just looks to me like the registration process (called something like RegisterOnce) is not functioning properly.
So the question is, How do I activate the product?
Thanks,
Eric
