'Some products failed to install error' Need help figuring out the issue

I looked at what versions of C++ I had installed, I have a few 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2012. I didn't know which ones to remove after being linked to here:

If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure if this is of any significance but I am trying to install the student version.

That did it! Thank you. I had to use the 30 day trial, but I am a high
school student on summer vacation. If I am not using the product to make
money, how do I get the student registration?

Hi Jessica,

How do I find the serial or registration number? I sign into my autodesk
account, but it doesn't say anything about 3d studio MAX. I want to make
games and this is the best tool to work with Unity. I also already took a
design class in High School using Adobe Photoshop, but I want to make games
after I graduate.

When you registered for the Education Community and you selected the product in which you wanted to download, the serial number and product key should have been presented to you. Were you able to choose a product to download?

My computer crashed and I rebuilt it but when I tried to install 3D Studio, it won't extract. I tried both the download manager and the other version. It doesn't extract all the way and it stops. I let it run overnight and it still stops. I tried deleting all the files it doesn't install and tried to use the material installer like it said on the community forum.

How can I get this to work?

In the future use @<their account id> method to catch someone's attention.   This posting is over 2 years and Jessica or the others may not even see your reply.

Did you go to the Autodesk Virtual Agent and follow the download links to your product.  Download all of the parts first and then go to your download location.  Extract (double click) part 1 and in a few seconds the extraction will start.   It will then prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk and once the extraction is finished the installation will start.

I tried 2015 install again, and 2016, and 2017, and I can't get any to work 😞 It tells me in the %TEMP% folder, in the log file, that the files are not verified. Or it will tell me a cabinet file is corrupted, either materials cab file, or base_T~1.cab file is corrupt and cannot be used. I tried downloading using the virtual assistant, and with the web installer. I checked that the file sizes are good when I downloaded both of them. I tried installing in safe mode with network. I tried uninstalling, and clearing out autodesk.

The only thing I have not tried is installing on a brand new machine and I can't afford to do that. So what do I do now?
