single network licence problem

hi,

a client of ours is running a network licence server with a single licence and has been complaining that in order for the licence to be freed and used by another machine once autocad 2006 is closed, the licence server must be restarted. has anyone encountered this problem before and maybe knows of a possible cause / remedy for this problem?

That should not be happening. Check his task manager to see if acad.exe is still present in the processes. The license will not be released if the application has not closed successfully.

Also, you might consider creating an adskflex.opt options file and use the TIMEOUTALL option to ensure that the idle license is released after a certain set time. You can find this information in the FlexLM documentation.
