Server name in License File

I am getting an error when I try to run reports on our license file. Acording to this http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=13587543&linkID=12544120 you need the file and Ethernet Address to match. In my file we have the  server name and then the first MAC Address. Should they both be in thier or is somehting else causing the error?

SAMreport does not use LMTOOLS to license itself.  That is done within the SAMreport program itself.  You need to make sure that the license .dat file you obtained is placed in the correct location after install.  For example, mine is here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Macrovision\samreport\v3.6\machind\license\license.dat

When you launch SAMreport, you should note in the title bar that it is properly registered to you.

LMTOOLS only creates the report.rl log which is used by SAMreport to read in the license usage.

If this is your first time setting up and using SAMreport Lite, please start here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=2538394&linkID=9240618

Note than this product has been deprecated and is no longer supported.  Jimmy has a newer alternate called JTB FlexReport that might interest you.  You might check it out.

It has been awhile since I last used it and even then it wasn't much more than playing with it to learn licensing as a AE. The license file is in the correct place but it seems SAM doesn't like it. I have a trial from JT and am going to play wiht it over the next week or two.

Thanks
