Revit could not load RevitMFC.dll

I have installed revit 2010 on WinXP without error. When I run revit.exe the splash screen comes up, then about 10sec later I get the following error:

"Revit could not load RevitMFC.dll"

RevitMFC.dll is definitely in C:\Program Files\Autodesk Revit Architecture 2010\Program (4732KB) and the Program directory is in my path. Has anyone come across this before? I did a search on the forum for revitmfc.dll but didn't find any references. Any help much appreciated.

A definitive, if rather disappointing, answer. I don't know about you but I have no idea what processor I have, let alone whether it supports the SSE2 instruction set. Is there no way for the installer to check this before wasting vast amounts of my time downloading useless installation binaries?
