We have been trying to install Revit 2010 (student version - 32 bit) for four days and consistantly get a 1603 error during the installation of 2005 C++. We've tried deleteing the file and starting clean twice with no results. Does anyone have any suggestions? Two e-mails to Autodesk have gotten no results.
1603 typically is insufficient rights error to install application.
try the following solution:
1 Make sure you are entitled full permissions as a user before carrying out installation.
2. Download the Microsoft vc ++ redistributable from the link below to see if it helps.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=200B2FD9-AE1A-4A14-984D-389C36F856473.
3 Create another user with administrator rights and try again..
4 Turn off UAC if you use Vista or Win 7 OS, also anti-virus application.
If above doesn't work, you need attach your log file to do some research.
