Revit and Cad Architecture 2011 not installing

I downloaded AutoCad Architecture 2011 and Revit 2011 to replace the 2010 versions. The first time I downloaded and installed, both installations went flawlessly. When I tried to open the programs, however, they both came up with a fatal error within 10 seconds (before the programs were even on the screen). I uninstalled both and then started a second download with a clean slate.

I am now on installation attempt seven. Every time there is an error in the final stages of installation or a fatal error, as described above. I've done several restarts, redownloads, reinstallations...I'm out of ideas!

Any ideas? It would be fabulous if I could get this working sometime this weekend. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks a bunch!

Can you post a screen shot of the error dialog you receive during installation?

I am also having the same problem with AutoCAD,  I have installed 3ds max, Alias, Revit, and Maya, all the 2011 versions with no problem.  However AutoCad 2011 always comes up with a fatal error and I have tried re-downloading the software, restarting my computer, disabling my virus protection.  Nothing works, what do I do?

Were you logged in as the adminitrator of the machine during installation?

Can you the Install Log file which can be found in the TEMP folder?

Also, the crash dump file (with extention .dmp found in the same folder) would help in providing important details of the

crash.

I was signed in as an admin, there is only one account on my desktop (that is mine) and I am the only administrator.  I could not find the crash.dmp file but here are the setup and install logs.

I had a look at the setup log file and it mentions the Error 1603.

Typically the 1603 error has several potential solutions. Try installing from Diagnostic Startup mode.

(On how to start your machine ins diagnostic mode refer to solution from the link below:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=13404186&linkID=9240617)

1. Microsoft Installer documentation lists that the 1603 indicates a resource needed by the installer is in use by another process. Often a reboot will stop this. Quitting background applications during the installation of an application is a best practice.

2. Bad media, dirty lens, bad optical drive or bad optical drive drivers can all cause this. If you downloaded the 2010 or 2011 product and it extracted to the C:\Autodesk (or your designated) folder. This should not be the case. You can restart the installer from the Setup.exe without need to re-extract the installer from the download. If you are trying to install from the DVD copy the contents to a temp folder on the local hard drive. If there are several disks start with the first disk then copy additional disks, in order, into the same location and overwrite any files if asked.

3. Permissions are sometimes associated with this error. For Windows Vista and Windows 7 try disabling UAC. Make sure you are a Local Administrator. Sometimes a Domain Admin needs to be added to the Local Administrators group. Right-clicking the setup.exe and choosing to Run as Administrator may be necessary as well.

4. If you are already logged in as a local administrator, create a new Windows User Account with Full Administrative rights, login using the new account and try installing.

You can also have a look at the technical solution mentioned below:
