R2002 too new for R2004 FlexLM?

So I got a LIC file for R2004, to run on the same
machine and NIC as our current FlexLM. And I copied the INCREMENT
40100ARCHDESK_3_3F adskflex 1.000 permanent 15 \
line from the old LIC file
to the new one, right after the Increment line for R2004.

Then I did a default install of R2004 FlexLM,
configured the service, and ran a diagnostic. I got this:

So it seems to me the error is saying that the
licences for R2002 (ADT3.3) is for a later version than the LM for R2004
understands. Huh? I did a search on the KB for the error number and the
error string, but I can't seem to find anything. I looked at the FlexLM manual
from Globetrotter, and error -90 seems to indicate a miss-spelling
somewhere, but the Increment line is a direct cut & paste. BTW, if I take
out the ADT3.3 line, I get no error. Anyone have any ideas?

Gordon,

It does not make sense that your ADT 3.3. increment
is showing a borrow statement. We are not issuing licenses for previous versions
with this statement. You should verify you copied the whole ADT 3.3 increment to
the license file not just the first line.

It can be that the Lic file is newer than the FlexLM service.
try downloading the newest from

However Gordon has stated that he has installed the
FLEXlm version from the 2004 CD and therefore the version should not be an issue
providing the correct lmgrd is being used for the service. The diagnostic
printout also points to a problem with the ADT 3.3 increment not the 2004
increment.

Simon,

I think that is the ticket. When I was told
"Copy the ADT 3.3 INcrement line" I took it too literally. I will try again with
the correct amount of cut & paste.

Thanks,

Gordon
