Please zip up the contents of C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Adlm then post to this forum thread. I'd also like to see a System Information file (.nfo):
1. From the Start menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information .
2. From the File menu choose Save .
3. Save a .nfo file and post to this forum thread.
Are there any files, such as "adskflex_00691b00_tsf.data" and "adskflex_00691b00_tsf.data_backup.001", in the C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet folder?
Douglas Lauritsen, Autodesk Product SupportIt looks like everything has installed correct but the Activation process is failing. More specific, maybe, is that it is not or cannot create the trusted storage file for the license management service. I'd still like to see the installer log files. Please follow these instructions and post the .log files:
1. Launch Windows Explorer.
2. Type %temp% in the Address bar.
3. Look for these two files:
AutoCAD Map 3D 2011 Setup.log
AutoCAD Map 3D 2011 install.log
If we can't solve this one I want to be able to submit this to the developers for their review. Resolving an invalid serial number would be a small detail they would catch at first glance.
Can you also resubmit the contents of the ADLM folder?
Douglas Lauritsen, Autodesk Product SupportThe installer is returning a 1603 error. This has several causes: computer needs a reboot, permissions issue, media issue... My guess is a permissions problem (or other application, driver, etc...) is preventing the startup and activation; maybe even preventing the creation of the trusted storage file. The trusted storage file would be created in the FLEXnet folder.
Start here: What are user permission settings for the FLEXnet and Adlm folders we have been looking at? Do they inherit their permissions from their parent folder? Is your user account included in the folder properties for Security or a member of one of the groups with Write or Modify permissions? Power Users and Administrators should, by default have the necessary permissions. My computer has the addition of Everyone with Modify privileges for the FLEXnet folder.
Then try Diagnostic Mode with the "FLEXnet Licensing Service" (Do you have this service listed here?) enabled, reboot and try to run in Trial. Also try a repair or reinstall from Add and Remove Programs then start AutoCAD Map 3D again.
If this does not work another idea is to create a new local Administrative user and try from that user. Otherwise I may be out of ideas and will need to see if the Developers can come up with a solution.
