"installation Failed" for Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2011

Installs directx runtime update, material library 2011, mat lib update,... then when it is installing 3ds max design 2011 after it says "starting services"  it says "rolling back" - the library files get red "x"s next to them... in the end I get "installation failed"  Any help greatly appreciated.

Please try clean install as new admin user.

if issue persists, please post the parts of log file where the issue occurs (%temp% folder )
