I have an extra AutoCad License that I am considering allowing a new employee to install on his personal computer so he can work remotely. Is there a way I can set security on the software so it cannot be used passed a certain date if the emploment does not continue. I want to make sure I am protecting my license and not giving away free software. Maybe some sort of automatic software expitration date like trial versions have.
Do you want to use the borrow license feature? If so then you can set the number of hours/days for which the license
can be borrowed after which the license will be returned to the server.
You can assign the license usage to specific user accounts or user groups through the options file. In case you want to restrict any user from gaining access ti the license in future, you may remove his name form the user list or user group form the options file.
If that seat of AutoCAD is on subscription, then I think you can get a "home use" license for it. They are good for about one year after issue. I do that for some of my Inventor users. After the year is up, the program asks for a new license code or links you to the store.
