Problems reinstalling Inventor 2010 Educational after Windows system restore

My computer is running Windows XP. It goes through the installation but quits after failing to install .NET framework runtime 3.5 SP1. What do I need to do?

On Windows XP,  see if you can unisntall .NET 3.5 SP1 and then install it from the Microsoft site.
