problem with installing the older vertions of maya

Hi

I have just purchased maya 2014 and installed it succesfully. Now I am trying to install the previous vertions like 2013 and 2012 which I have downloaded from my ddownload link. Now the problem I am having is the serial and product key I have got with this purchase  is not working. Any idea whats wrong?

The standalone license (serial number) that you received for Maya 2014 is specific to that release, and will not work with previous or future versions.
