peer-to-peer acad2002 xref problem

S.O.S.

One of our small branches use peer to peer networking. The PC with the best
hardware is used to store project drawings. The same PC is used by a CAD
operator. When attaching xref's, all users use UNC paths as the CAD operator
with the project drawings cannot map a folder as a drive on her own hard
drive.

They operated like this successfully with R14.

But, with acad2002, the CAD operator using the PC with the project drawings
cannot xref attach using the same UNC method - autocad displays a message
saying that the user does not have rights to the folder!!!

What is the solution?

(PS The operating system of the PC with the drawings is Win98)
