New Network Deployment roll-out gradual 2007 to 2008

We are currently running AutoCAD 2007 Network version. (server based license managed)

I wish to setup a Network Deployment for AutoCAD 2008...
Run the install on my machine, get all our customization and menu system tested to run on 2008... then, once tested roll-out 2008 one station at a time...

I would assume we can alter our license file to run either 2007 or 2008 that will allow for this?

... any pitfall or pointers before I start this process?

You need to request a new license file for this. You cannot just alter it.
But when you have the new license file you can run both 2007 and 2008.
If you are on subscription there are some news that you can read about on my
blog.

thanks for pointing this out!!

Do you know... will we need to clearly indicate that we need a license file that will specifically allow us to run both 2007 and 2008... or will asking for a 2008 file give us what we need.

A new 2008 license file will give you what you need. To continue to run 2007, under subscription, you will need to combine your 2007 license file INCREMENT into your new 2008 license file.

Keep in mind that you are still only permitted to run only the maximum number of seats allotted to you.
