new motherboard not recognizing license

I had a new motherboard installed yesterday and now Maya won't open, asking me to install a license. The text of the license I had saved is not working. How can I get a new license? I first bought this upgrade to Maya 2009 (from Autodesk) in April of 2009.

Thank you

Your license is no longer valid because the hardware properties of your computer have changed. This is a built-in protection to keep licenses from simply being copied from one computer to another to prevent software piracy. You will need to reactivate your license. If this does not work, call Autodesk Activations at 1-800-551-1490 and they will be able to assist you. Your old license text will not work for your new motherboard.

I have a similar issue except I have not replaced the motherboard yet. What would be the correct order of operations to move a licence to the SAME computer with a different motherboard?

If you are running a 2010 or 2011 product that includes the License Transfer Utility (LTU) in the start menu for that product, you could try exporting the license before swapping the motherboard. That will deactivate the product. After swapping the motherboard, run the LTU again to import that license back into the product. Being that it is the same product installation on the same hard drive, I'm not 100% certain that this will circumvent the need to activate the product again but it's worth trying. Worse case scenario is that you have request a new activation.
