Network License Borrowing

Hello, everyone

Is there a way to borrow a network license to use IV in an off-line laptop? If so, how?

Thanks

Mauricio

Ok, I did that, but I don't get anything to "take" to the laptop. What do I have to do once I open the laptop and try to run IV?

FYI, in the laptop, I downloaded and installed IV, but have used the 30 day trial period that you normally get when you download it.

When I made the installation at work, I got a license file from Autodesk that the license manager utility program uses, or reads. Do I have to take a copy of this license with me so I can use IV at home this weekend?

Thanks

Mauricio

you installed it wrong

you need to install it as a network license and point it to your license server

ok, just to see if I understand this:

1. install IV on laptop as a Network License

2. connect the laptop to my network at work so that it can look for and read the original installation license

3. once that link is established, from the laptop, from within IV, do the "Borrow License" thingie you described in your previous post

4. Now I can disconnect from the server and IV will work on the laptop

...yes?

yes that is correct

if you do this no one else can open inventor (assuming you only have 1 license)
