.net Error on install of ACA 2011 64 bit

Hi,  

I'm trying to install the 64 bit version of ACA 2011 on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. It fails on the Directx9 install showing:   ".NET3.5 is not installed. ACA 2011 cannot be installed without this component....."

Here's the log file entries:

I've searched the the knoweledge base and forums and can't find a solution.  Also tried several times to install .net3.5 from msoft.

Any ides?

Microsoft .NET 3.5 is integrated into Windows 7. Try going to “Programs and Features” and select the “Turn Windows Features on and off” link. Then turn .NET 3.5 off and turn it on again if it fails repair Windows 7.

Also run Windows Update a few times to get all of the .NET and Visual C++ updates and service packs.
